Instructions
Pick a place where you’d like the center of the top edge of the wood to rest. Make a mark there. Place the end of the level vertically against the mark, then make a mark at the bottom edge. Turn the level to be horizontal again, and place the center against the second mark. Make sure the bubble is completely between the two black lines in the middle of the level and draw a line along the length from end to end. Put a mark on each end of the line where the screw will go.
If mounting on wood, Press the tip of the center punch against the marking until the spring is triggered. This will leave a dent. Put a screw in each dent. Leave the head of the screw sticking out after no screw threads are visible so the keyhole plate will be able to grab it. Screw heads should be sticking out completely straight, not at an angle. Wood is the best material to mount the piece on.
If mounting on drywall, tap the end of the double headed drywall screw into the wall and screw it in. No center punch, anchor or pilot hole is needed.
Once the screws are in, match the holes in the keyhole plates to the screws on the wall. Slide the piece down, trapping the heads of the screws in the slots. If you’re not sure the keyholes have engaged with the screws, assume they haven’t.
